Assignment

 

1. Determine the frequency of a tuning fork TF-4 in transverse drive mode, when mass of 10g is added to the scale pan. The linear density of thread is 1.17 x 10-4 kgm-1 is a constant.


2. Calculate the number of loops in transverse drive mode, when mass of 25g is suspended in scale pan of melde’s string apparatus having TF-1. Also find the frequency of the fork . (μ= 1.17 x 10-4 kgm-1)


3. Using transverse drive mode and longitudinal drive mode, determine the frequency of TF-1 when different masses such as 10g and 15g is suspended in string apparatus.


4. What happens to the number of loops when we use different modes of vibration? Explain it using tuning fork TF-2 and 20g  mass is  suspended same for both the modes.


5. Determine the frequency of a tuning fork TF-5 in transverse mode when mass of 10g is added to the scale pan. The linear density of thread 1.17 x 10-4 kgm-1 is a constant.
