Assignments
1. Using voltage clamp mode in the simulator with standard ionic concentration calculate the peak current for Na+ and K+ by varying voltage step value -60 mV to +40 mV with an increment of 10 mV and plot V-I curve by assigning voltage on x-axis and current on y-axis.
2. Calculate the reversal potential and conductance of Na+ and K+ ion channel from the above plotted V-I curve.
Hint : Draw a straight line on the V-I curve y-value for x-value ranges from 0 to +50 mV. The point at which the line crosses the x-axis and the voltage at that point is the reversal potential of particular ion. Use Ohm's law to calculate the conductance.
3. Calculate the reversal potential of Na+ ion by plotting V-I curve with standard ionic concentration. Calculate the peak current for Na+ and K+ by varying voltage step value -60 mV to +40 mV with an increment of 10 mV and apply TTX under "Drugs" tab in the simulator to 100% to block sodium current completely.
