Assignment:

 

1. Consider a number of fishes with varying sizes (Kilocalories per fish, abbreviated as ‘e’). Simulate this scenario with different values for ‘e’, construct different graphs for each value and analyze the effect of prey size on the optimal foraging strategy. Explain what is the effect of size of fish on optimal foraging strategy of a kingfisher?

 

2. Assuming that a kingfisher’s flight velocity changes with the effect of bad weather and different environmental factors. That is, its flight velocity may decelerate with heavy rain, wind etc. Consider such a situation and perform the simulation with various flight velocities and see the effect of such environmental factors on optimal size of the foraging area and thus the optimal foraging strategy.
