Understanding Frequency-Current relationship




  1. Study the relationship between injected current and frequency of spikes simulated from a Hodgkin Huxley neuron model using the simulator. Change the amplitude of input stimuli (current) from 1 nA to 20 nA.


Hints :

  • Neuron simulator has two preset default stimuli (Stim1 and Stim2) student can change this settings by clicking on Stimuli tab.
  • User can change the amplitude, delay  and duration of input stimuli using this feature.
  • Number of pikes can be counted directly from the simulator interface or from the exported file. For plotting frequency-current relationship graph use Matlab / Octave / Micosoft excel (detailed step expalined in the procedure).
