# Assignment

1. If the birth rate increases but death rate remains the same in a population what happens to r? What is the outcome in terms of population growth?

3. What happens to the equilibrium density of the predator when the efficiency of the predator is increased? Do you think the equilibrium density is attained at less prey density? If yes, why and if no why not?

5. What happens to the prey population density when the efficacy of the predator is decreased? Imagine that you are in a situation where the efficacy of the predator is 0.1 and the prey is maintained constant density of 200 individuals. You are asked to increase the density of the prey population to 500 individuals. What would you do provided the growth rate of the prey is 1, carrying capacity is 1000, theta value is 1, consumption rate is 0.03 and death rate to be 0.3?

7. For calculating the zero population growth of the predator, we used an equation. Use that equation and calculate the equilibrium density attained by the predator when the efficacy of the predator is 0.01 and plot it in a graph with the above mentioned parameters.

9. With the above mentioned parametric values, check what happens when you lower the carrying capacity of the prey population and when you increase the carrying capacity of the prey population?
