Pre-Lab Experience

Before experiencing the actual Virtual lab live experiments one should study the followings:
·         Over view of the Virtual lab's live experiment page.
·         The Non-inverting Amplifier circuit diagram to be implemented on the virtual breadboard.
·         Pin diagram of the IC 741.
·         The resistors and its values available on the virtual breadboard.
·         Equipments like function generator, power supply and CRO. How these devices can be observed and calibrated virtually.

Procedure

1.     In live experiment environment one has to login or create the user id (if new) first and then go to the page shown below. For integrator choose L1.

2.     Select the non-inverting amplifier experiment from experiments list.

3.     One can first check the connection by loading the circuit design on the virtual breadboard using load icon. Then either use the loaded design or make the connections as follows: Drag the components op-amp 741IC and resistors R1and R2 and place them on the breadboard.

4.     Connect the components on the breadboard as shown in the connected breadboard circuit at the bottom of the live experiment page nest to the circuit diagram.

5.     Connect the function generator to the non-inverting (+) input terminal of the op-amp.Connect the power supply + to the inverting input at pin 2 and to the pin 4

6.     Connect function generator, CRO ground terminal to the common ground of the virtual breadboard.

7.     Connect CRO to the feedback resistor R2 to observe the output waveform.

8.     Verify the circuit by clicking on verify icon, lock the circuit by lock icon to use devices on the VLab live experiment page

NOTE: To verify the designed circuit one can check the logfile as shown below.

9.     Set the frequency and amplitude of the input waveform after clicking on the OPEN Function Generator icon and then click on Run icon to run the experiment. Now one can observe input and output wave on CRO.

10.   Check the non-inverted and amplified output waveform and calculate the gain as explained in the lab report.
