Simulation Experiment Procedure

1.Click on the link below 'pefrom experiment' and a window showing Amplitude Modulation

   will open.

2.Vary the carrier signal’s frequency and amplitude and modulating  signal’s frequency and amplitude to
observe the Amplitude Modulated  waveform in time domain and frequency domain.

3.Calculate modulation index from m=(Am/Ac) and also from

and compare both the values.

 

 4. Observe the AM wave for different values of the modulation index. (note that usually the index of

    modulation m ≤ 1 is used)

 5.Also observe the effect setting m>1 which produces overmodulated signal.
